Thursday Update

What a day! We started the morning off with breakfast and a visit from Mrs Thompson! She came with lots of messages from school, including some postcards from our Reception buddies. This morning we went orienteering and made our attempt at the crate challenge – some of our towers were very high! After a great lunch, we made our way over to the trapeze and quadbikes. Some of our leaps had great musical accompaniment. We then had a dinner of curry/lasagne, followed by a team quiz that ended in a dramatic draw! Roll on tomorrow and the winner of the coveted room inspection award…

Happy Wednesday

We have had a great day today, starting with a 100% success rate on the zip wire.  This was followed by some outstanding archery – all that practise at school has really paid off!

After lunch  the two groups came together on the giant swing and then got muddy together in the tunnel trail.  They are just getting cleaned up now then it is off for tea followed by a quick round of capture the flag before bed.

Beware the bench

Same bench, two different victims. First Ben, having scaled the massive 32.4 feet of the vertical challenge, sat down for a well deserved rest and promptly fell off the two foot bench.  Then not more than two minutes later, same bench took out Mrs Morrison as she was taking a photo.  Both are thankfully fine and are now much more aware of the dangers of sitting down!

After Lunch

After lunch we had ‘Survivor’ – the children all now know how to make a shelter, safely build a fire, and create a water filtration system using leaves. We also had the Vertical Challenge – a tough climb up a number of different obstacles. We were all very tired, but enjoyed a warming chilli con carne/veggie curry/fish fingers/salad/chips for dinner. We ended the day with a campfire, where we sang songs and toasted marshmallows – bring on tomorrow!
